Freerunning event gives taste of extreme sport

By Rachel Gallacher & Sallie Gregson

Free coaching sessions for beginners interested in the adrenalin pumping sport Freerunning came to Leeds this week.

The company behind the event wants councils to put the equipment in local parks throughout the country to encourage active lifestyles.

Freerunning, also known as Parkour, started in France and has since become global. It can be seen in films such as the opening sequence of the James Bond film, Casino Royale.

The event, held by Freemove, a leading equipment specialist, was staged at Leeds Metropolitan University.
