We’re off to see Wicked…
queues outside Leeds Grand Theatre

Fans of musical Wicked queued down New Briggate yesterday when tickets for next year’s production at the Leeds Grand Theatre went on sale.

Even the theatre was taken by surprise.
Wicked is performed at Leeds Grand between June 10 and July 4, 2014, and the first 100 fans to buy tickets were given an exclusive Wicked cupcake, a coffee and a CD of the music from the show.
Tickets had gone on sale at 8am.
Amy Sanderson, head of communications at the Leeds Grand, said: “The queues started at 6.45 this morning and an hour later there were over 40 people queuing down Briggate.
“By 9.30am over 100 people had come through the doors of the theatre just for Wicked tickets.
“We know that the people of Leeds and Yorkshire are musical theatre fans and the Grand Theatre has a tremendous loyal audience, but this has exceeded our expectations.
“Thank goodness the weather held out.”
